About the Project
This project was commissioned by the world's most prestigious scientific journal to celebrate its 150 years of history. We created an immersive data visualization that maps the entire network of scientific papers published in Nature since its founding in 1869.
The network reminded me of Pollock's abstract expressionism. The variety of colors and their distribution tells us about the vivacity of science, increasingly multidisciplinary. It is also an invitation to overcome the barriers that sometimes exist in research, only in this way does knowledge advance.
The visualization reveals the interconnections between different fields of science, showing how discoveries in one area influence and inspire breakthroughs in others. Each node represents a paper, and the connections show citations and relationships between works across 150 years of scientific progress.
