Network Earth
The multi-layered web of cooperation that sustains our planet
About the Project
Earth is animated by complex interactions between its life forms, rocks, atmosphere, and water. All living creatures - animals and plants, bacteria, fungi, and others - are involved in a worldwide, multi-layered web of cooperation.
In this video we explore, as an example, the connections that exist between Ants and Plants, and we discover the resilience and fragility of this network.
Our life depends on the health status of these and many other connections between all life forms, and the film shows how it is possible now to monitor these connections and identify whether ecological systems are in danger of failing.
